As of 21st July 2025, Girona Buddies is an "entitat", which means we can now book rooms at any centre civic in Girona.

How to book a room at the Centre Civic Barri Vell

Step 1: Contact Jordi

First, contact Jordi Garcia Torroella. He works for the Centre Cívic Barri Vell.

Tell him you're from Girona Buddies, tell him what you want a room for, and for what day and time.

Step 2: Fill in the 1362 form

Once you've agreed with Jordi on a date and time to use a room, you need to go to https://seu.girona.cat/portal/girona_ca/serveis/e-registre/AaZ/1362.html and click Obtenir instància. This will open a form called the 1362 form. FIll it in and sign it.

• For Nom o raó social put Girona Buddies, and for the Doc. identificatiu, put G22945927.
• For Nom i cognoms put your name and for the Doc. identificatiu put your DNI or NIE
• For Exposo, write something like "Girona Buddies és una comunitat que connecta catalans i persones d’arreu del món que viuen a Girona, fomentant noves amistats i activitats compartides. Tenim un subgrup que es diu _______________, per a catalans i immigrants a Girona. Les persones del subgrup es reuneixen un cop al mes per parlar de temes relacionats amb la _______________."
• For Demano, write something like "Demano utilitzar una sala a un centre cívic el dies 9 de juny i el 14 de juliol entre 18-20h per una trobada gratuïta per _______________"
• For Activitat oberta al públic select "Sí"
• For Es cobrarà entrada? select "No" (until we're an NGO, we can't charge for events)
• For L’activitat està coberta amb una assegurança de responsabilitat civil select "No"

Step 3: Submit the form

Go back to https://seu.girona.cat/portal/girona_ca/serveis/e-registre/AaZ/1362.html and click on Tramitar en línia. You will need to log in with an electronic certificate or with idCAT mobile (I forgot how these work, sorry). Once you're logged in, click Continuar, then fill in all the data.

Click Continuar again, upload the 1362 form, and submit it.

There's a informal understanding between Pablo (who works at the Centre Civic) and Paul that Girona Buddies can use rooms there when they need to. We've never actually used a room there yet.

How to book

Community Room Use Guidelines

To ensure everyone enjoys a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, please follow these guidelines:

Community Use Only

This room is intended for public and community-focused activities. Private events, personal celebrations, or parties are not permitted.

Leave It As You Found It

Please return all furniture and equipment to their original position. Remove any materials used during your time.

Clean Up After Yourself

Dispose of trash in the designated bins and make sure the room is left clean and tidy for the next users.

Respect the Schedule

Use the room only during your reserved time. Be considerate of others who may be scheduled after you.

Report Any Issues

If anything is damaged or not functioning properly, let the staff know as soon as possible.

Background

In February 2025 there was nothing happening in the Girona Buddies yoga subgroup, so Paul suggested, "Does anybody want to organize anything?" And this one yoga instructor, Cristina Diez, said that she knows someone who works in the Central Civic Barri Vell called Jordi, and maybe he could let us use a room there for yoga sessions. So Paul went there with Cristina to ask this guy Jordi if Cristina could use the space for yoga sessions. Jordi was happy to help, and said we could use any rooms to basically do whatever we want, as long as the events are free and for the community.
