Welcome to the Girona Buddies website! We're a community of people based in Girona. We started in February 2024 as an informal WhatsApp group. The Girona Buddies WhatsApp community reached 1,000 members in July 2025 and 2,000 members in February 2026.

We have around 50 subgroups on WhatsApp, for things like languages, hiking, mountain biking, and making music. Each subgroup is independent, autonomous, and has its own admins. Some of the language subgroups (Catalan, English, Spanish, Language exchange) hold weekly meetups and have their own Instagram accounts (@conversacatala, @gironaenglish, @espanolgirona, and @langexgirona).

We became a registered non-profit association on 21 July 2025. Our NIF is G22945927.
